Matéria que Sente (2025)

Matéria Escura

Latência (2025)
“Latência” examines the state of dormancy before expansion—an inner accumulation of energy that has not yet erupted. Part of the Sensitive Matter — First Movement, the sculpture expresses the tension between silence and potential, interiority and emergence.

Irreversível (2025)
“Irreversível” embodies a point of no return—an energetic rupture where material transformation becomes unstoppable. Within the Sensitive Matter — First Movement, this sculpture expresses structural breakdown, fragmentation, and the irreversibility of inner forces.

Centelha (2025)
“Centelha” represents the first ignition—the moment in which an internal force punctures matter and becomes visible. Within the Sensitive Matter — First Movement, the sculpture symbolizes initiation, breakthrough, and the emergence of a guiding spark.

O Nada Entre (2025)
Rooted in the Sensitive Matter — Second Movement, “O Nada Entre” explores the suspended instant before transformation. A moment of pure interval holds energy in stillness, revealing the sacred potency of what exists between one state and another.

O Contato (2025)
Part of the Sensitive Matter — Second Movement, “O Contato” captures the decisive instant when two forces meet and alter each other. The golden sphere disrupts the rising wood, marking an ignition point and the emergence of a new internal structure.

Vestígios (2025)
Emerging within the Sensitive Matter — Second Movement, “Vestígios” reflects on the traces left by internal forces moving through matter. The ascending forms echo memory, passage, and the invisible shifts that shape material presence.

Transfixação (2025)
Emerging within the Sensitive Matter — Third Movement, Transfixação reveals a vertical body perforated by dozens of circular openings of different diameters, each suggesting an inner force pushing outward. The golden interior glows subtly through the dark exterior, evoking a silent pressure, an inward resonance trying to break through matter. The work embodies a state of spiritual emergence — a moment when the internal becomes perceptible, but not yet fully unveiled.

Ressonância (2025)
Part of the Sensitive Matter — Third Movement, Ressonância explores the vibration between bodies, forces, and gravitational loops. Two torus-like rings — one blackened, one golden — orbit a dense spherical core, creating a suspended geometry of attraction. The work visualizes the invisible field between matter and spirit: a pulse, a frequency, a quiet expansion. It is not motion, but the awareness of the field that precedes motion.

Limite do Imanente (2025)
Within the Sensitive Matter — Third Movement, Limite do Imanente investigates the boundary where presence becomes weight. A heavy, charred wooden block contains a hollow carved depression holding a suspended golden sphere. The work materializes gravitational tension — the moment when the sacred presses into matter, creating depth, curvature, and permanence. It is the imprint of divine proximity, a threshold between the visible and the interior.

Campo de Imanência (2025–2026)
Emerging within the Sensitive Matter — Third Movement, Campo de Imanência marks one of the most distilled formal and spiritual syntheses in Otávio Motta’s research. Two tall curved brass sheets stand in symmetrical opposition, while a dense aged-iron sphere is held in equilibrium between them. The sculpture embodies the consciousness of the almost — the instant when forces align and the world expands in silence.
